Continuous Development of Internet: IPv4 Address Space Exhaustion and Migration to IPv6

We are pleased to co-organize with IET

- Informatics and Control Technologies Section

an IPv6 evening seminar on 24 March (next Wed) for those members who get more basic knowledge about IPv6 and networking.  Here you are the details:

Technical Seminar:

Continuous Development of Internet: IPv4 Address Space Exhaustion and Migration to IPv6

Synopsis:

It is well known that the current version of Internet Protocol IPv4 has address space

limitation because it is only 32-bit long. It will run out of addresses at IANA (Internet

Assigned Numbers Authority) level in 2011. New Internet users may not be able to

get IPv4 addresses they need starting 2012. So, it is becoming urgent for everyone

on Internet to start deploying a new version of Internet protocol called IPv6 in

production environment which has 128-bit address space. Otherwise, Internet will

become fragmented and communications among Internet users will be affected

seriously. The session will touch on the background of the problems and also on the

deployment and operations of IPv6 in different environments. The key message of

the session is "Take Action NOW".
