Date: Nov 15th 2010 (Monday)
Time: 6.45pm - 8:30pm
Venue: M1603, Senate Room, Li Ka Shing Tower, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom

Speaker: Mr. Fred Baker, Fellow at Cisco Systems, Inc.

Topic: IPv6 Talk: Intelligence at the Edge: the Evolution of IP Communications

The Internet, as we know, is undergoing a major evolutionary step with the deployment of IPv6. Some call for revolutionary steps in the form of a "clean slate" approach, discarding the concept of layering, or introducing additional layers. Fred Baker, Cisco Fellow, former IETF Chair, and current chair of the IETF's IPv6 Operations Working Group, will discuss directions for enterprise, SMB, SOHO, and residential networks for the coming 3-5 years. This includes traditional networks, automotive networks, and the Smart Grid.

**After Fred's talk, Gunter Van de Velde, Chair of Belgian IPv6 Task Force, will brief us about the status of Belgian IPv6 deployment.
