Youth Coding Jam 1000 (9 Apr)

This mega event aims to promote coding education among the youth and encourage students to develop programming potentials.

All participants will receive a series of FREE special coding training on Minecraft platform. With the skillset, participants can build their own assigned parts of the futuristic Smart City map from January to March 2015. On 9 April 2015, 1,000 selected participants will meet at the IT Fest opening ceremony at Central Harbourfront to finish their last bit of coding, where we will aggregate all completed parts into a giant digital Smart City for the public to see and witness the setting of a new World Record!

“ICT Conference 2015 – Enriching Sustainability of Smart City”, aims to provide a forum for the government officials, university researchers, and major industry professionals to share the views on the government policy, the latest development and applications, as well as the opportunities and threats in the future ICT era.

Build a Secure Cyberspace 2015 – “Protect Your Web and Mobile Device” Seminar (17 Apr)

As cyber attacks targeting websites escalate, the risks of the theft of business and personal information keep rising. Furthermore, malware targeting mobile platforms has surpassed that of PC platform. Businesses and individuals should raise their awareness and understanding of the threats. In this seminar, information security experts will share their experiences and explore ways to manage the risks. The seminar is also one of the events under the International IT Fest 2015

“What’s Next for Financial Innovation in Hong Kong?” Seminar (23 Apr)

The government has announced its goal to make Hong Kong a financial technology hub in its 2015-16 Budget. While digital investing, equity crowdfunding and peer-to-peer lending are starting to gain popularity in Hong Kong, regulatory, risk and compliance challenges loom large as the obstacles towards financial innovation in Hong Kong.
With the government going to initiate a steering group to explore financial technology, this event aims to engage relevant stakeholders for a conversation related to policy and regulatory issues surrounding fintech.
