不少年青人於矽谷實現創業夢。(資料圖片) 我曾與一位來自美國矽谷從事技術開發的朋友閒談,他提到矽谷對科技及商科人員的重視程度,就以手勢示意。說到前者,他將手放在頭上;說到後者,他將手放在腳下,表示矽谷對科技人及商科人重視程度兩者的分別。我十分認同地說:「和香港的情況一樣,不過那是十多年前的事了。今天?情況剛剛反轉過來!」 香港畢業後的學生大多數只想到兩條出路:繼續升學或到大公司打工(iBank當然最好);但在矽谷還有第三條路:創業或加入創業團隊。那位矽谷朋友說:「在矽谷的IT人,大多有一個共同理念,就是要創造一件可以改變世界的產品(Something that can change the world) 。創業(Startup)是很平常及值得鼓舞的事。他們是矽谷的火車頭,視野廣闊 (They think big)。」 但在香港,想創業困難重重,首先要得到父母支持,能取得「不反對通知書」已是天大喜訊。跟朋友說要創業,彷彿你是異類,跟著你就要回答「十萬個為甚麼」問題。為甚麼香港與矽谷在這方面竟有天淵之別? StartLab香港創業實習班 美國史丹佛大學的StartX是一個為期三個月的創業實習班,除了為創業者提供不同培訓外,更提供多方面及一條龍的資源及協助,如免費法律咨詢、雲端計算服務、軟件、資金資助計劃及物色投資者,實習班還有無限量的咖啡供應!StartX最重要是由成功創業家為新企業作個人導師,形成一個「舊人幫新人」的社群及生態環境,成功塑造頂級新生代的企業家。過往兩年,StartX已成功協助其85﹪創業公司取得共超過一億美元的資金。 香港沒有StartX,但現在已有StartLab (www.startlab.hk),意念來自StartX。StartLab是一個香港版的小型StartX,由一群本地創業家發起成立。他們在創業的過程中走了很多冤枉崎嶇路,因此希望透過各方面的力量幫助下一代的創業者。這是香港第一次能結集最多的機構、學院及創業群體,合力塑造正面的創業生態環境。香港第一次舉辦為期五日的創業實習班,第一次針對本地或剛畢業兩年的大學生,並且第一次鼓勵新創企業/創意企業應用互聯網技術的優勢。 StartLab為期五日,除了不同的培訓外,如企業計劃及風險管理、技術及設計、市場推廣等,本地成功創業家將會為學員作個人導師,指導及協助學員親手建立自己的產品,甚至開立自己的公司。在最後一日,學員更可在成功創業者、創業培育計劃主管、投資者及公眾人士面前展示他們的創業計劃及初步製成品!
